Slumber Party...

One of the greatest things in the world is the fact that Noah LOVES having sleep overs at Nonna's house. It is great for Allen and I, It is great for Noah, and Nonna LOVES having Noah over all night. I fully understand the saying..."What happens at Nonna's, stays at Nonna's".

Since Allen is out of the country, Noah and decided to have a sleep over at Nonna's tonight. When we are at home, Noah goes to bed great...and by himself. When he is at Nonna's he is usually spoiled because Nonna will lay with him while he falls asleep. Well, tonight Nonna was still at work when I put Noah to bed so I layed on the bed with him. I quickly remembered why I like having him go to bed on his own. He just wouldn't fall asleep. He kept having to tell me "just one more thing" and he kept rolling around kicking his feet all over me. I was getting frustrated but pretended to be asleep (even though I wasn't really fooling him). Well, all of a sudden Noah started crying (very unusual) and he told me he was scared. I told him when he is scared he can always say a prayer. He asked me to say one so it went a little something like this...

"Dear Jesus,
Thank you for this great day, please help take away Noah's fears tonight so he can get a good night sleep . Amen"

Yes, it was short and sweet but mind you we had already said our night prayers and I was really wanting Noah to go to bed. Then all of a sudden, Noah says "Mom, I feel it, I feel Jesus taking away my fears, they are flying away". I said "Good, now you can go to sleep"...and my little negotiator says ", Oh wait mom, I think Jesus left some in me". I just had to laugh!

What a priceless story!! Sounds a whole lot like bedtime at our house with the wiggling and the talking. LOVE the prayer and Noah's sweet response.
