What goes around, come around...

I feel like a phrase I am repeating ALL the time to Noah is: "You don't always get what you want". When we go to the store and he is telling me all the toys he wants, or when he sees something one of his friends has and he wants, I use my favorite sentence: "Noah, You don't always get what you want". I feel like he doesn't hear me saying it over and over and over and over.

Well, the other day when i was picking up my aunt and cousin from the airport i kept getting turned around and kept making wrong turns. I even drove though the parking deck and went straight to the exit thinking I was going to the top level of the deck and had to circle all the way back around. I was getting frustrated with myself and I think Noah could tell cause he pipped up from the backseat and our conversation went like this:

Noah: "Mom, I am being so good. Even though I am thirsty, I am being so good".
Me: "Noah, you are being good, I am so proud of you for being so good but I expect you to be good. You are a big boy, and you are my son and I expect you to be good all of the time."
Noah: (big sigh) "Well, Mom, you don't always get what you want".

I don't make these things up. At least I know he is hearing me!!!
