It's all in a days work...

I know that there are many things I take for granted in life but one thing i know I do not take for granted is the fact that my mom, dad, and brother live very close to us. I really do know how lucky we are!! I have so many friends that live so many miles from family, and I don't know how they do it. I am so blessed that Noah gets to grow up surrounded by these wonderful people who are always so willing to jump in when I need extra help. Of course, to them it isn't them doing me a favor by watching Noah but they see it as I am doing them the favor by calling on them so they can spend time with Noah. Whenever I leave Noah with Barrett, Aimee, Nonna, or Grandpa, I am always so relieved because I know Noah is having a blast. Noah also LOVES to have sleepovers! Last night he had a sleepover with Nonna, Uncle Bubba, and Aimee just for fun! This morning I met Aimee and Noah at the mall for lunch and then left him again with Barrett and Aimee while I went to work. We all met for dinner and Nonna met us there just to see Noah and Noah BEGGED me to go back home with her again tonight for another sleepover. So I said goodbye to him, kissed and hugged him, and away he went. My independent boy!

Just as I was settling in for the night at home, getting my pj's on and about to watch the basketball game with Allen, I got a call from Nonna. I knew something was up because usually when Noah is staying at Nonna's they are having so much fun I don't hear from them unless i call. Noah was still awake because he wasn't feeling well...a sound that no mom wants to hear especially when she isn't there to take care of her baby. I could hear Noah in the background and he said he wanted to come home because he wasn't feeling well. I jumped in my car and was on my way to get him! As I was driving out of my neighborhood (it was only 9:15pm at this time), I had a flashback of several times in middle school when i called my mom in the middle of the night to come get me from a friends house because I was homesick. She always came. I am not sure if I ever really thanked her for that...thanks mom! I decided to stop by Walgreen's on the way and pick up some medicine for Noah to keep at Nonna's. When I came out of the drugstore, my mom called me to tell me Noah had fallen sound asleep in the time i went in, got the medicine and came out. We decided to just let him stay there in hopes he will sleep all night and not wake up sick. Of course, I will have my phone turned up extra loud tonight in case i get that phone call in the middle of the night saying he wants to come home. Of course I will jump out of bed and go get my almost 4 year old baby! Just like my mom always did for me!! I guess it is true what they say...a mother's work is never done! But I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!! I love being a mom!!!

Family is the best...100% agree. I wouldn't last 10 minutes without them close by.

E's sick, too. Fever. Ugh. Hope they are both better in the AM.

Booooo hooooo!! I'm crying as I read this... my baby is 6 hours away and I miss him like crazy tonight. I wish our families were closer so it didn't have to be a full week without him.
