Social Butterfly

When I was in college I worked at an after school daycare a few days a week with little kids. There was this one group of moms that I really liked and noticed they must have been friends outside of school because they were always talking about each others lives and couldn't know that much information about each other just in the few minutes in the pick up line. Being the outgoing person I am, I asked them, only to find out my first thought was right. I can't for the life of me remember any of their names but i do remember one of the moms told me (almost like a piece of advice) that once you have kids, you become friends with the parents of your kids' friends. I clearly remember at that time I thought that was so stupid (I even had a very long conversation with my roommate about it). I remember thinking that I might not even like the parents of my kids friends and i would always have my own friends!! Well, I wish I could remember the name of that lady because i want to thank her for being right!! Yes, I do have friends that are not parents of my kids' friends and I love them dearly but the people i see most often and hang out with on a regular basis are the moms of Noah's friends!! And let me add that is a VERY good thing!!! They are no longer the moms of Noah's friends but MY friends. They are an amazing bunch of women who keep me sane during the week! I love that we see each other regularly, talk even more often, check up on each other with our blogging/facebooking/emailing, but mostly laugh a lot when together. Of course it is mostly at what our crazy kids are saying and doing but nonetheless...laughing! So to my lovely, beautiful, crazy friends...thanks for being my friend!
