Memory Lane...
With the latest technology of ipods, itunes, Rhapsody, etc; CD's are a thing of the past! I hardly ever see them anymore which is actually great because they used to be all over my room, car, and closet. Really! I used to have my friend Chris burn me TONS of cds with my favorite songs on them and somehow they ended up all over the place. I spent countless amounts of money on cd holders yet the cd's rarely made it into them.
Most of my old burned cd's had a theme and some were very specific: Country Guy Singers, Christian Fast songs, Broadway Musicals...I am not even kidding! I would make cd's with songs on them depending on my mood or what was going on in my life.
I recently found 2 of my old cd's and ironically they were the 2 I listened to the most! The first titled "Meghan's Favorite Love Songs" was burned when i was a freshman in college and on top of the world! I was so naive about so many things yet to come! I thought I would share the list of my favorite love songs from back then...
1. She's Every Woman by Garth Brooks
2. The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra
3. When You say Nothing at All by TigerRoar
4. Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton
5. It's Your Love by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
6. Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis
7. Angel Eyes by Jeff Healy Band
8. You Move Me by Garth brooks
9. Chances Are from the Hope Floats soundtrack.
The 2nd cd i found is titled "Meghan's Favorite Break Up Songs". This cd was made during my junior year of college when things changed quite a bit for me. I was not so much on top of the world because i had recently had my heart shattered into a million pieces. Because of it, I switched schools, moved back home, and spent a lot of time in my room. Along with my amazing mother, this cd got me through the rough time. Now don't feel bad for me, I actually learned a lot about myself during this time, got involved in youth ministry, and started a much better path which actually led me to my current family!!
Here's the list of my favorite break up songs...
1. At This Moment by Billy Vera
2. In a Week or Two by Diamond Rio
3. What Might Have Been by Little Texas
4. Now and Then (don't know who sings it)
5. Far Apart by Five Way Friday
6. No Time for Lonely by Five Way Friday
7. Every Rose Has A Thorn by Poison
8. You're Gone by Diamond Rio
9. I'll Be Okay on the My Best Friends Wedding soundtrack
10. I will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
11. Everyone Hurts by REM
It was really fun to find them and listen to the songs again. Especially after not hearing some of those songs for so long. It was nice to take a little trip down memory lane but even better to see how my plan in life wasn't nearly as great as the one God had in store for me. I wouldn't wish the pain that I went through on my worst enemy but I also wouldn't change it for myself for a million dollars. I learned so much, and now have 2 great cds!!
