Surprise!!!!

Last night was a huge success!! After months of planning, I pulled off Allen's surprise 40th birthday party!! Although, I could not have done it without the help of my mom, dad, brother, Aimee, and Diane...and of course everyone who kept it a secret!! Thanks to my Dad and Diane, we had the party at the clubhouse in their neighborhood. My mom did an AMAZING job on the food, decorations, and setting up before hand! Allen thought we were going out with my Dad and Diane to a martini bar in Buckhead. He was a little upset we were driving with them and not taking our own car (for logistical reasons) and was being very vocal about it. Since I didn't really have a good reason as to why we weren't driving separate, I just kept dismissing his concerns trying to hurry up and get in the car. Unfortunately that was only making him more upset and I could tell smoke was going to come out of his ears soon. Luckily though it kept him distracted while my dad said he needed to swing by the clubhouse and drop something off for the HOA. When we got there, Diane asked us if we wanted to come in and take a look at the inside of the clubhouse in case we ever wanted to have Noah's party there (good thinking Diane!). I quickly jumped out of the car and Allen followed (still upset about the whole car issue). It actually worked out really well that he was upset because he was totally unaware that Dad and Diane kind of stayed behind and that I opened the door for him! As we were standing at the door, Allen was still going on about the car issue that I finally snapped something like "who cares, just get inside" and when he walked through the door everyone yelled "SURPRISE" and Allen was in total shock! It was fun night and I'm glad I was able to surprise Allen with a party to celebrate a new milestone decade!!

Here's Mom setting up fr the party. She took the day off work so she could get everything ready! Although Allen thought I was at working setting up for our church picnic, really I snuck over to help mom.
Here's the big "Surprise" Moment...I think he was holding his heart...he really was shocked!

He just stood there for a few minutes soaking it all in.

Whew, thank goodness we pulled it off!
